Site update as of August 2026

This site has long been in a state of missing new posts. But here’s to a new lease!

It actually comes not just as a refresh, but a whole new base, as we have changed from Wordpress as a CRM to an Open Source Static site generator called HUGO. This shift should make the site delivery a lot faster, as the pages are actually pre-generated abd just needs to be served straight from the server.

We are redesigning the site as we go, so if you are here in early August 2026, the site design is currently minimalistic, but we will gradually update and upgrade it.

A lot of the old posts have been moved over, but we are planning to go through those and archive the ones that are no longer being maintained. We also plan to simplify the tags, especially on the archived posts.

General new plans are:

• Development of the page design, especially on the list and categry pages
• Additional Categories like Microsoft 365 Admin, Artificial Intelligence, but also some non-IT categories like gardening and building - probably with some kind of technology twist
• Better Menus and site navigation
• Better SEO
• Comment/Community options
• Contact page

We have decided to put Google Ads on the site. This in the hope that at some point we can provide a lot of useful info that brings traffic, and through traffic and ads, some income to support the running of the site. Currently traffic and thus ad income is almost non-existant, so income is pretty far into the future. We could “hide” the ads until we get more traffic, but we just feel that being honest and showing ads up front is more honest than add them later.
